Spark Boda pilot program

Spark Boda is not an idea built only on a spreadsheet. Electric bodas are on the road in Eldoret to learn from real riding, real passengers and everyday boda economics.

What the pilot is testing

Distance

1,068 km

Real kilometres ridden on the road.

Trips

101

Real passenger journeys completed.

Profit Impact

127%

Improvement in rider profit in earlier analysis.

Publishing note: Reconfirm the 1,068 km, 101 passenger trips and 127% profit figure, including the exact baseline method, before public publication.

What matters most

Uptime is everything

When the bike stops, the rider can stop earning. Maintenance, support and replacement-bike availability are part of the product.

Flexibility beats dependency

Charge at home or another suitable location and swap when needed.

Economics must work for riders

Lower operating costs, more uptime and keeping 100% of ride earnings are central to the model.

The bike has to be a real boda

Payload, passenger comfort, practical footrests and day-to-day reliability matter more than showroom specs.

We are still learning. The pilot challenges assumptions and guides improvements before scaling.
